DO-RAG DUDS // BANDANA CLOTHES AND FUROSHIKI/ BOJAGI - 1 WEEK!
Tuesday & Thursday 6pm-7:45pm - July 6th & July 8th
Using the ubiquitous classic paisley bandanas we create beautiful wearables from these simple friendly squares plus learn to wrap/drape/tie objects for easy carry or gift wraps using fabric squares in the traditions of Korean Bojagi and Japanese Furoshiki to accessorize!
Exercise your sewing skills while focusing on sewing straight lines, backstitching, hand gathering, machine shirring, textural surface design, machine and hand smocking, sewing applied elastic, piping and piped elastic, flipping narrow hems, furoshiki folding, and basic patterning/draping while making fun shirts, skirts, dresses and accessories from a colorful array of your favorite classic bandanas.
Each student will recieve 8 randomly colored bandanas and are welcome to bring more or purchase additional bandanas in class to use in your ideas! Dress forms are available for use in class for draping.
