$250 includes all materials including a rainbow of 10 bandanas for each participant!
- MON - PICK BANDANAS, INTRO TO SEWING, PRACTICE PROJECT, DEMOS: (DRAPING, CIRCLE SKIRTING, PLEATING), INSPO BOARDS, BRAINSTORM COLORS AND STYLES.
- TUES - TOPS: DRESS, TANK, LONG OR SHORT SLEEVE CUT AND CONSTRUCT. WORK ON ACCESSORIES.
- WEDS - BOTTOMS; SKIRTS, SHORTS, OR PANTS. WORK ON ACCESSORIES.
- THURS - FINALIZE LOOKS. PHOTOSHOOT & FASHION SHOW.
ACCESSORIES INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO: FANNY PACK, ZIPPER WRISTLET, KEYCHAIN, NECKLACE, ARM/LEGWARMERS, HEAD BANDS, POUCH NECKLACES, VISORS, HEADWEAR, BELTS, DRAWSTRING BAG.
Rescue square bandanas from conformity and create personalized festival fashion items to show off while enjoying summer activities! Choose a colorful array of pre-hemmed bandanas for your projects! Design clothing from inspirational booklets to mix-and-match styles of sleeves, collars, necklines, straps, waistlines, lengths, widths and gathers! Use sample sets and existing patterns or free-form your fits to size, and stitch up garments to employ pre-existing hems and enjoy fast finishing! cut and sew your own accessories to keep your hair, keys, phone and cash in place while you move about! Garments will be finished by either elastic lining, zippers, buttons or snaps for a finished look that's easy to get in and out of!
Participants will learn and use an amazing set of skills!
Machine operations, design, pattern-making and altering, cutting, pinning, inverted construction, zipper installation, snaps, elastic, hand sewing, applique.
HANKY HABERDASHERY - (6/22-6/25: 9am-12pm) or (8/3-8/6: 1-4pm)
- Morning Drop off is between 8:45am and 9am and pick-up is between 12pm and 12:15pm
- Afternoon Drop-off is between 12:45 and 1pm and pick-up is between 4pm and 4:15pm
- Full day students will remain indoors for the duration of camp! Please pack a lunch!
- Drop off and Pick ups are at the front doors of 6301 W. Lincoln Ave. Please text Vanessa at 414-303-1981 if there are any trouble or changes! Any late students must ring the doorbell as the classroom is in the lower level. Students will be brought to the front door for pick ups or ring the bell!
- We love to document our process and product and your child as a participant will likely be captured in photos! Please let us know if you are not comfortable with your childs photo being taken or used in any social media illustration of the camps! You will receive a google photos shared folder of photos via text at the conclusion of the camps!
- EARLY ENROLLMENT is $20 OFF until MARCH 15th! Please use the code "SEWINGSKOOL" at check out to receive the camps at $230
- Camps will require at least 4 participants to run, but no more than 6! Please tell your friends how awesome these summer camps are! Madam Chino has been running community art ed and sewing programs in the community for 20 years, and I GUARANTEE IT!
- These camps are designed for students 3rd-8th grade or 8ish-13ish years old! If your child is going into 3rd grade in September 2025, they are eligible. If your child is older than 13 but still wants to join, they are also welcome!
- Sewing experience is not required for any of the classes, we will teach your child to sew and construct beautiful objects!
- Please send your child with water and a snack. Each student will have a cubby cube under their tables for the duration of the camp. We will take a 15 minute snack break every day.
- Once you sign up, you will be emailed a confirmation the week before the camp with more details.
- Refunds: Due to the nature of reservations, refunds are only available if your class spot is able to be filled. Once notified, Madam Chino will place the class back on the schedule, and if filled you will be refunded the cost of class minus credit fees. You are welcome to transfer classes to another eligible participant and settle your class fees privately, but must provide parent and child contact information to Madam Chino prior to classes.
