KAMP KERCHIEF // Handkerchief Camping Kits!

MON-THURS

June 17th-20th 1-4pm or

June 24th-27th 9am-12pm

$240 includes all materials, including assorted handkerchiefs!  Each child will receive an assortment of mixed-colored hankies and plain muslin to complete and line their projects.

Camping or Picnics alike, sew up some beautiful campy accoutrements for your outdoor adventures!  A napsac camp roll with built in pillow, drawstring snacksack, a fabric covered ziplock baggie, recycled mesh "mess kit", pocketed napkin roll up, toule bug net using sticks and bent wire, and a visor!  Plus a camera/phone case necklace that can double as a waterbottle holder! 

 

FRIENDS IN THIS CAMP WILL IMPLEMENT SOME AWESOME SEWING SKILLS TO CREATE THESE AMAZING ITEMS: 

Sewing machine operations, inverted construction of lined objects, sewing corners and curves, patterning and measuring, hand sewing invisible ladder stitches, lots of creative AND critical thinking to create a matching set of useable objects!

  • Madam Chino is taking all possible precautions for COVID-19 safety: masks (if necessary), assigned separate tools and workstations 6ft apart, air purifiers, hand sanitizing and washing of tools and materials between sessions, to prevent the spread of COVID variants and other viruses.  

     

    Morning Drop off is between 8:45am and 9am and pick-up is between 12pm and 12:15pm

     

    Afternoon Drop-off is between 12:45 and 1pm and pick-up is between 4pm and 4:15pm

     

    Full day students will remain indoors for the duration of camp! Please pack a lunch!

     

    Drop off and Pick ups are at the front doors of 6301 W. Lincoln Ave.  Please text Vanessa at 414-303-1981 if there are any trouble or changes! Any late students must ring the doorbell as the classroom is in the lower level.  Students will be brought to the front door for pick ups or ring the bell! 

     

    We love to document our process and product and your child as a participant will likely be captured in photos!  Please let us know if you are not comfortable with your childs photo being taken or used in any social media illustration of the camps! You will receive a google photos shared folder of photos via text at the conclusion of the camps!

    Camps will require at least 4 participants to run, but no more than 6!  Please tell your friends how awesome these summer camps are!  Madam Chino has been running community art ed and sewing programs in the community for 20 years, and I GUARANTEE IT!  

     

    These camps are design for students 3rd-8th grade or 8ish-13ish years old!  If your child is going into 3rd grade in September 2024, they are eligible.  If your child is older than 13 but still wants to join, they are also welcome! 

     

    Sewing experience is not required for any of the classes, we will teach your child to sew and construct beautiful objects!

     

    Please send your child with water and a snack.  Each student will have a cubby cube under their tables for the duration of the camp.  We will take a 15 minute snack break every day.  

     

    Once you sign up, you will be emailed a confirmation the week before the camp with more details. 

     

    Refunds: Due to the nature of reservations, refunds are only available if your class spot is able to be filled. Once notified, Madam Chino will place the class back on the schedule, and if filled you will be refunded the cost of class minus credit fees. You are welcome to transfer classes to another eligible participant and settle your class fees privately, but must provide parent and child contact information to Madam Chino prior to classes.
